The Fluid Concept of Home. A place where we feel a sense of security. We carry memories of it, and at times we wonder how a single event has disrupted both our safety and our recollections of home.
Sometimes, when hearing about other people’s struggles or reflecting on the unpleasant situations we ourselves face, we find ourselves thinking about what might be happening at home or what secrets may be hidden there even without directly mentioning it. At times, losing a home leads us to cling to the smallest signs of comfort and security in any place, awakening within us a faint sense of being at home or of belonging to one. This collection of short films, some emerging from the filmmakers’ personal experiences, others born of their close observation of the lives of others. Each in its own way seeks to compel us to reflect on the idea of home. Homes that no longer exist, or that no longer carry a sense of safety and tranquility.
